I captured this image recently in the Kruger Park. The light was not too great, but fortunately the focus held on the head. I added wing tips and canvass at the top.

Chris:

Great action, unusual pose, sharp on head and body, well exposed. Nice post work. Effective comp.

Perch not very pretty, but it took a while for me to even notice it, because of the fine action.

Cheers

Chris...such an unusal pose that works very well with this comp. Very strong and full of impact. signature BG too. Liked the DOF a lot. big fan of your work.

This is an awesome shot Chris! Great pose and head is crisp sharp.
Here is a repost with canvas added to the bottom as I feel the composition is more balanced. What do you think?
Cheers,
Ofer

Another very well captured moment Chris.
I prefer your comp. Should any canvas be added I would look to the top and right but I think it is fine as you have it.
Good colour and BG.
May lighten the perch a tad. (was it burnt?)

Thanks guys! Ofer I'm not too keen on your proposed composition, but that is a personal thing :) Dave the perch is a burnt stick.

Way to go Chris..the action is great and the sharpness and comp it just about perfect for me.

The dark perch is what it is, at least its not bleached white, at least it doesnt stand out.

ERollers are one of my favorite birds. I will be photographing these guys in Europe in May and I cant wait.
