Because of the relatively high nests the Black Swans half scramble, half fly onto the nest.

Canon EOS 3, Canon 100-400mm, ISO 400, Natural light, 1/500 sec F7, Water-hide, Tripod.

Thanks David I'll repost as Adobe RGB colour space. I seem to get this over saturated look with sRGB which suppose to be best for monitor veiwing!!!

Love the wonderful action you captured in this image John and I like the repost better as there appeared to be a slight blue cast to the image. Very lovely timing and beautiful environmental capture. thanks for sharing.

John, I think the reposting is better but the beak still looks too saturated and I think the image could be brighter. I'm being hypercritical here because of your very high standards!

Thanks David but both the red bill and density of image appear OK on my monitor - interesting to hear from others!!

Very nice action image. The head looking down tells the story. I like vivid colors so it does not bother me at all.
