Hi Everyone,
Here is a shot of one of the bull Sea Lions that were around during the local herring run. He looks pretty vicious but is really just barking in order to mark his territory and to attract a mate. This is about a half frame crop taken at 260 feet away.

Stats: Canon 50D, 500mm F/4 Lens with 1.4X, 1/250 sec at F/8, ISO 400

Hi Steve Excellent exposure and lots of shadow detail, would have tried traded some dof for shutter speed !!!

I like the tight cropping, good view of open mouth and water swirl around him !! Tough coming up with a good on for these in that water, like it a lot !!

Hi Steve,

Nicely exposed and pretty sharp for 1/250th with your lens combination. If this was hand held I am very impressed.
