I created this image last week before all the snow fell. The light that evening was gorgous! I hate Daylight Saving's Time but I sure love having it be light out when I get home at night!

Canon 40D, EF 100mm f/2.8 macro
f2/8 @ 1/800th, ISO 100
Manual mode, natural light, handheld
Processed in ACR & CS4; adjustments to levels, cloned out a shadow, added a slight vignette around the edges.

Wow, a lovely image of one of my favorite flowers! I have soooo much to learn about macro and flowers!
i really like the natural background and the details in the petals.

Hey Jules,
Nice job with the selective focus again. I'm getting psyched too! Yellows look a tad hot on my monitor....adding blues should fix that.

A beautiful shot. I like the small DOF, the placement of the flower in the frame and the diagonal line of the flower. I might tone done the paler parts in the stem and the upper right corner a bit.

Beautiful image Jules. Love the comp and shallow dof. Perfect placement of focal point and great colours.:)

Jules,

Love seeing yellow on a green BG. Really nice composition.
Thanks for sharing...

This is lovely, Jules. Good comp and as Charlie said, yellow on green always looks nice. The yellows look a bit hot and I would probably clone over the dark area in the URC but that's a minor point.

Hey Jules, mice are still only a few inches out of the ground, I thought they would be up sooner as we have had above normal temps for a couple weeks. Nice details and BG.

Thanks everyone. Yellows probably ARE hot - I more than likely pushed them there on purpose because I want to see YELLOW so bad! I'll take another look at the items mentioned. Thanks again, everyone!
