Now that is intense in your face action. Great moment captured. Would love to see it larger. Welcome to the forums and nice first post. All the great posts from africa and India are really making me want to go out of country! TFS

Welcome and a great first post.

You must have been in the same vehicle as Johan.

A very intense moment very well recorded. I would like to have seen a wider crop showing more of the Cheetah on the LHS.

A very cool first post - it looks like lunch is about to be served! Exceptional action captured with good sharpness throughout. The dust cloud in the background adds to the sense of action. I too would like to see a slightly wider crop, but this is very dramatic, as presented. Keep them coming!

Congrats on a fantastic action packed image Bridgena. The dust adds to the drama and I like the Springbok fully airborne.

Bridgena, Ditto above. I love that the chasing cheetah has its eyes almost closed, and that the other one is standing still. First off, thanks for your membership support and welcome

When you post, please let us know what gear you used and your ISO, shutter speed, aperture, ect.

What was the outcome???

What is your full name?

We would all love to see more. Great job BTW with a tough EXP. Were you in manual mode?

Hi Bridena and welcome. :)

I guess based on Austin's question you must have been, as there's a fraction of a difference between the two imahes. You have done exceeding well based on the speed of these animals, well done. I to would have preferred a wider VP as it conveys the story much better to the reader, however it does not take away the drama of the image and it's inevitable ending:(

Good first post.

Just a bit more of the left hand cheetah for sure, but more importantly, its front paws with a small border below. But still spectacular.

Superb. Great timing. Some more space at the bottom and left would strengthen the composition. Is this a crop? Please post your aperture, shutter, ISO, camera, lens details for better critiquing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

You are correct - Half a meter behind Johan - Happened so quickly - no time for my window mount or fluid head - Nikon D700, F4, 500 lense PLUS 1.7 converter (Was busy photographing animals on the horizon and then this BANG in my face) Date 25/12/09 time 07h40

Thanks for all the comments and time spend on this - very valid comments on the crop - Still learning a lot and I think that this was the best XMAS ever!

There is really nothing more I can add to the comments above, so I will merely say that this forum now has the three best Cheetah hunting images I have ever seen.

Absolutely marvelous!

Have just seen this, (away for a few days).
Not much else to add other than highly envious:D, a dramatic action image well caught!
Agree with Ken, some of THE best hunting Cheetah images seen to date plus they are all here @ BPN.
