Looking over her territory from the nest tree....likely watching the two unwelcome juveniles who have been coming in lower each day for a look.

Cloned out the two scrawny horizontal branches as I felt they didn't balance well with this particular pose. Decided to leave some of the needles.

Nice lokoing eagle, I agree it looks quite majestic. Is that a feather shaft sticking out near the tail? I'd look into neutralizing the blue reflected on bottom left edge of the perch. All else is spot on!

You know...I never even saw the thing sticking out! Actually, it looks like grass to me.
As for the blue reflection...I can't see it on 2 different monitors?

Hi Jim

Very well done. Great details on the bird, in a very well exposed image. I prefer a little crop from the top and left.

what more could you ask for? a regal bird, sweet light, clear perch. I might take some off the top and right. wish it was mine!

"Reflection" may have been the wrong word to use...

On the shadowed part of the perch there is a bit of blue "bleeding" into it from the sky. Not sure how to technically describe it. I know its minor, but it caught my eye.

Nice and sharp Jim. The 600+1.4+D300s was a great choice for this. Eye level images are always much more attractive then 100-400 or 70-200 looking straight up.
