Last light, the original had darker underwings because of the light's direction, I was able to pull a lot out of it with Nik's Reflector filter, I choose soft gold to try and match the golden light hitting the chest and head.

Fabs, I don't use any of that software, but whatever you did sure looks great. I especially like the composition, seems to add to the sense of power and intensity of this wonderful bird.

Great underwing detail with sumptuous golden light in the shadows. There's a slightly dark area just above the nape - was it in ORIG? Beautiful portrait.

Beautiful, Fabs. Wonderful job of lightening the underwings - they really do have a beautiful golden glow to them. I really love the way you fill the frame with him from URC to LLC - just enough room to not leave us feeling crowded.

Love the lighting and the pose, Fabs! My only suggestion would be to darken the whitish spots in between the top parts of the wings. Or is it just my monitor? Otherwise, fabulous work!

Thank you much, guys, here's the original, out of ACR default settings. Resized for web only, no adjustments or sharpening applied.

Hi Fabs... I like the detail you have pulled out, and thanks for the info (I haven't used Nik's products before... they sound interesting). Also great to see the 'before' image for comparison.

I like the diagonal flight angle Fabs, and really good work on the recovery of the underwings.

Fabs, the key here is bill not merging with the wing I think. Lovely shot and as others have said, superb job on underwings. gotta love digital, right?

Hi Fabs

That is an amazing job to bring so much detail under the wings, comparing to the original. I do not see much noise under the wings, after you have opened the shadows so much. Did you use any noise reduction or Nik's Reflector filter does it automatically, after opening up the shadows.

Thanks guys.

Manjesh, I really don't remember, but usually Nik's reflector or Viveza don't produce too much noise.
