Had the place to myself yesterday. Very tranquil.

A 3 image HDR -2, 0, +2

7d + 10-22 at 10mm
f/16
ISO 100
minutes after sundown

how's my color? I just had to tone down the cyan quite a bit.

Hi Michael, Very pretty! Beautiful late light with equally nice reflected water.Nicely framed with good foreground interest.HDR seems well handled!

Hey Michael,
I know the area well!!!....while I like the colors, my brain is telling me that the eye almost never sees the FG brighter than the BG in these situations. I think you need to do a few more tweaks in PP'ing to this......bring up the areas from the middle of the rocks up........most likely selectively......but keep in mind to brighten the sky the most......FG darker than the sky. You don't mentiona polariser...or a vignette....corners appear a bit dark due to either.....I think revisiting this one is worth the effort as the comp is right on!

This one caught my eye right away! Very nicely done. I believe that the top of the frame is a bit too dark though.

Thanks for sharing!

Great shot you have here but i agree with Roman. I also think you have to much contrast on this. Some TLC will make this Super

I made some of Roman's suggested changes. How's this? Also Roman, I had my polarizer but forgot to use it. Doh!

Very nice Michael! Nice job on the rework and not sure you needed the polariser here as the water surface looks great!

Michael,

Repost is a big time winner. As mentioned, the composition is rock solid with an interesting FG, great color, pleasing flow that the eye takes around the image.

Minority here...but I like the OP more. I see what Roman is saying about the brighter FG...but I like the surreal feel it is lending. In the repost, I find the blues in the sky a little too saturated for my taste.

Nevertheless, one heck of an image. great composition. IOTW candidate for sure.

The re-post is a bit more natural but something still doesn't seem right. I still am not a fan of most HDR's. Also, regarding you forgetting the polarizer, at this wide, you would have had a very uneven sky from it. Composition works, I have similar, so I like it. =)

Hi Mike....very very good image! The repost is even better....I do agree with taking a bit of saturation out of the sky selectively!

Repost is a winner.
How about sharpen the rocks a bit? Is that against the rule of landscape photography?
