Another gull from Plum Island, these guys were hovering
and diving in a pool full of crabs at low tide. Real feeding frenzy
and many chances to practice BIF. CC appreciated.

Don't know if I would have cropped this as a horizontal or as you've done.
Whites on the side look a tad hot and could probably be brought back down or darkened up with a Liner burn or multiply.
I wish I could have seen at least one of the eyes?

I like the look-down pose but must agree with Jim's right-on critique (though I am fine with the vertical choice). In addition, I would prefer that the bird's bill were perfectly perpendicular to the ground.

Thanks Jim, appreciated.

Agree, the raw had no highlights but nevertheless the brightest parts got brighter after jpeg
conversion and sharpening. I will redo this one.

Thanks Artie, good point about the bill, didn't think about that, easy enough to correct. I think this one is worth
re-doing.

Vertical works for me, nice capture...I just wanted to ask (I know I'm going to regret this) what is BIF?

The crop works for me. Great sharpness and details in the feathers.
I agree with Jim about the eyes.

I like the vertcal crop. I agree I would like a better view of the eye.
