I photographed this beauty at Fakahatchee Strand in the Everglades yesterday on my outing with Al and Fabs Forns, Oz and my son-in-law Danny with my Canon 1D MKIV. ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/250 sec, EF-100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM, 400mm, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto wB, No Flash. This image was cropped. Comments Welcome.

Best view of that bird Richard !!! Sure wished he had stayed there for me !!! Love how he blends with the environment !!! ... I think you came up with the best of the day :)

Very unique composition. Love the pattern of the stems and neck together, cool technique. Wish it was wider IMO, nice one - congrats.

Hi Richard - this guy looks wired - think he's been licking those african frogs or something :)

Jeff, there is plenty more frame in the original image, but my thoughts were to accent the long neck, that's why I used the tall vertical crop. Thanks for the thought, I'll try it.....
