Scruffy little guy, but I liked the colours on him. I think moulting is a better description of what is happening here, but my book states "transitional" These guys are mostly red, with a black body. Taken last weekend in the nature reserve close to my house.

Wonderful detail and so sharp Stuart with a killer BG. Lovely pose and excellent eye contact. I might be tempted to crop a little from the bottom and if possible add a tad of canvas on the left to off center the bishop a bit. Beautiful work and well captured Stuart. Many thanks for sharing.

Very nice image. Very interesting transition.
More space infront of the bird would have been nice.

Not the "prettiest" specimen, but a good illustration of the molt, Stuart. Good exposure, sharpness and background. I like the diagonal perch, but, as above, would wish for a little more room on the left.

Pretty rough looking speciman but a fine image.. Great light and good comp.
