The English sparrows were hiding in the fir next to my condo entrance. I pished this male out. Cropped, cloned branch off of face, lightened eye and slight sharpening.
Nikon D300s Sigma 150-500 hand held
150-500mm @ 500mm
750mm (in 35mm film)
1/125 sec, f/9

You picked a good subject. I like taking photos of these little guys. They have lots of character.
It is not quite sharp enough and a tough shot hand held at 1/125 at 500mm. I am not familiar with this lens, but I would suggest for hand holding to have a ss at least equal to focal length or better yet, more.

My local sparrows have already started to nest. They don't have a good reputation but they are fun to watch. I like the eye contact here but there seems to be some motion blur. I also wish there were no branch in front of the bird.
