This is the northern variant of the iconic Australian Laughing Kookaburra. This was taken during a road trip north hence the "fence post" as a perch.

Hi Mike,
Crisp and clean I reckon. It could benefit from flash fill though IMHO.

Hi MIke,
Agree on the flash suggestion, and it could also benefit from more room all around.
Good looking bird, nice details on the plumage :)

Welcome, Mike
A little flash and a little more room are what come to mind most when I view this image. This is a good looking bird with a nice head turn. I like that the head is sharp and the sharpness as well. It's a nice capture.

Really enjoyed photographing the Laughing Kookaburas on my trip to OZ. This is a neat looking bird.. Comp is a bit tight but good otherwise. Might just try lightning the image in post processing or fill flash as others have mentioned

Hi Mike,
Cool bird and nice pose. It does seem a bit tight and dark to me. I downloaded it and brightened it up a bit for reposting. All I did was brighten it a bit in levels and apply a little shadow highlight (amount of 14).
