Photographed at Middle Creek on an overcast day. I'm wondering if the overlap and BG work for you.

Axel, I saw this on your pbase gallery today and was wishing that you post it here. What a marvellous shot. The trees in the BG really make this very very special. And as usual, all the other usual suspects are spot on. But those trees....wow.....just gives a different distinct surreal feel to it.

Lovely symmetrical flight postures, well exposed on the whites, and both nice and sharp. Great contrast between the geese and the BG. Do these guys migrate between the USA and Russia, or is the artic?

Thanks, Stuart! Most of the snow geese in the Eastern U.S. spend the winter a little further south and are now on their way back to northern Canada.

Hi Axel,
I think this is a fantastic shot. I like the BG. The out of focus trees are still recognizable without being distracting.
The overlap works fine for me here.
Great exposure and wing pose in both birds.

i think the trees and color in the bg give it a peaceful mood and it would totally feel different with just blue skies. i like it and the symmetry between the two.

I think the BG is really good and, I for one, find the the overlap (even though I have been chastised for doing that) just fine. Great capture. The exposure is really superb. Eish it were mine!

I agree with all the positives here and it shows how the relationship between the tonality of the subject and the Bg is so important. I think this is a perfect combination, giving a feeling that the subject is almost glowing. Very nice Axel!

Two birds in the same pose make this one really great. The white done is very good as
in the others in the series.

I love how the reeds in the bg works here. Not to mention getting both geese sharp. TFS.
