going against the rules when you dont have your GND's!! we were out at green cay this afternoon and the sunset was kinda nice so roman showed me a trick. he put his hand in front of the lens and when i pulled the trigger he pulled his hand out of the way. the foreground got about double the exposure than the sky. cool trick!!!

D300, 50-500 at 116mm, f/22, 1/2s, +0.7EV, ISO 100, one roman k hand:D.....cleaned up some stray branches on the edges and some dust bunnies everywhere. also evicted some power lines.

thanks for looking. comments and critiques much appreciated.

Hey, I remember that trick. Roman did that for me on the waterfalls. Beautiful colors and layered look. You made the ordinary look great!:)

Hey Harold,
It was great meeting you again and hanging out. I have to put a disclaimer on the trick......only use this in an "emergency".....not recommended for prolonged use:D. I might go for a bit more MG lightening and contrast boost....but nicely composed and always glad to give a hand;).

That's some trick! Agree that a bit more light in the green areas would be nice but I love how the peach color of the water is mirrored in the sky. This is really beautiful, Harold!

In camera dodging. I used to do that with my view camera.
