While visiting London last year, with no bird phototgrapy on the itinerary and no long lenses, we walked through St. James Park and I couldn't resist this beautiful bird who came close enough for my 24-105mm. C&C encouraged and most appreciated.

Nice shot. Sharp, good detail, and background is great too. It pays to be close to your subject.

Great shot. I like the curved neck. Great sharpness and detail.
It must be great to be able to photograph Grey Herons with a 24-105.
Very often they are so shy, that even a 4/500 + 1.4x from a car won't do!
