Natural colors on the cardinal with a complementary background and great action shot -- very nicely presented

Lovely shot Alan. I liked the eye contact and the complementing background. Would love to see a horizontal composition if you have one.

Nice pose and the reds look good. Wish the bright area on the beak wasn't present.

Stunning capture, Alan. Love the head turn and the wing spread. It's a different cardinal than we normally see.

Wow, this is awesome! Perfect BG, wing pose and head angle.
How did you get the head sharp? Did you prefocus to a certain point or did you just use AF?

Superb, Alan. The sharpness of the head and body framed by the wings is perfect - even the HAP have nothing to complain about:D

Well, what can we say...
This is a "common" species
with images of it taken "ad noseum"
and then you come up with this image.
Not fair:)

Hi Markus,

I was manually pre-focused on a perch where many species were landing. (I was going for landing shots) I happend to get lucky and got this guy taking off.

Thanks, Alan.
