D90; 80-400 VR @ 400mm. ISO 800. f/7.1 @ 1/2000s. Matrix metering @ -0.3 EV. HH.

My Brown Creeper came back to the maple tree yesterday. Captured this in haze-filtered sun -- better light and exposure than the post a few days ago. But this one doesn't have quite the fine feather definition of the earlier one, so I'll have to keep trying. This image makes him look static, which is not at all the case. These tiny guys are constantly moving, as the next image will show. C&C appreciated.

This one ("look ma, no hands") was taken 1/3 second before the image above. Another split second after the above image, he was half-way behind the tree.

That's fantastic. Makes you realise how stuck we would be without digital...

Hi Bill - love the speedy version - if the eye was fully visible it would be a winner in my books.
Great timing - exposure looks good.
Like it a lot.

Here he is after a visit to the eye doctor. (And a bit of Levels adjustment.)
