Not sure if or what kind of cactus flowers, shot at a botanical garden run by U of Michigan.

Fuji S5, Tamron 90mm, f/22, Natural Light, Tripod

Mike, I think it's probably a species of agave.

Hey Sandra, you are probably right, but have no idea which one. Nest time I'm at the botanical garden I'll have them let me know

I like the composition here...the prickly side of the plant is shown as well as the flowers off to the side. nice.

I love the way you highlighted just the area with the opened flowers; it really draws your eye right to them.

The light and the detail are very nice. I am having a bit of a hard time with all the "pricklies" to the left of the flower. I think it sort of pulls your eyes too far from the flower. While I like the idea I think possibly about a 1/3 off the left side wouldn't hurt. I am really loving the light here!

Can I ask a silly question, where was your focus point, and why 22 and not 32?? Anyways lovely light/dark, and soft /sharp combinations. The flowers are beautiful.
