Up in the tree above the car. This guy was so near, I could not get him full in the frame of the 600 mm without cutting off either hid claws or head, so I settled for a couple of frames that required framing. Handheld over my wife’s head – why are the best sightings always on her side of the car? Kwang waterhole, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

Good detail on face. The intent stare/eye is captured really nicely. I like the open mouth as well.
A little halo-ing on the outside feathers but I can't tell you why.

Powerful looking bird. Nice capture.

Nice job filling the frame! I would just get rid of that squiggle in the bg as it does not add anything.

This image has me a little confused, on my cal monitor there appears to be very little detail in the feathers and yet the eye seems quite sharp?
As if it was from a large crop, but this can't be the case and your SS should have been adequate, I can only put it down to camera/lens shake?
Is this the 600VR Callie? Was the Bateleur in deep shade and hence the need for heavy use of the S/H tool and resultant halos?
