I just toured the Martin Luther King area of Atlanta. Standing on the porch of his home there, I was struck by the contrast between the houses of his street (how restored beautifully) and the rise of Atlanta in the background. Every morning he had to walk out that door and see that contrast--the poorer homes of his street and the Atlanta he could never be part of because of his color.
