Another gorgeous bird well captured with nice perch, pose, and BG!

Might consider toning down the brighter "lichens?" on the perch just tad.

Hi Jim, Lots to like here. Nice pose with a good head angle, nice perch, and a good background. Your exposure looks spot on with good sharp details. Well done and congratulations.

Really enjoy the background, perch and overall colors.

Agree with Mike that I'd tone down the lichens and I'd also darken the highlight areas on the perch.

As I've noted on several images such as this recently (and maybe nobody else agrees with me :), when the subject is this isolated from the background, I really think the image would be stronger if the entire subject were in focus.

While I don't know for sure, it looks like you could have stopped down some more to get the tail in focus and still have come away with the same or close to the same degree of isolation from the background?

Lastly, perhaps a bit of additional sharpening on the top of the head?

Another stunning image Jim. Love that clean BG and the coppery head. I also believe that you could have stopped down a bit more. Nice to see that you have so much fun with these birds!, today I went close to that area where you have taken this species, is was rainy and windy!

Nice looking bird. I like the colors and the detail in the head and chest feathers. That's a nice little perch too.

The feather detail on the gorget-like green feathers is astounding.
