OK guys, I would like some feedback on this, good or bad, but I will qualify that by 'constructive' :D
FYI I have converted to B/W as the tones within the image I found in colour a little too much. I have my own thoughts, however I do not wish to pre-empt you, or suggest things.
Thanks
Steve

Steve,
To my mind the answer is no, there is too little shades of grey.

The action is terrific. For my taste, the mixed light is a big minus. IF you have the patience to dodge and burn for a more even tonality risking loosing a lot of time, I'd give it a try.

Steve,
It works for me. I like the inter-play of light with detail being available throughout the highlight to shadow range. Sometimes Visual Impact overrides technical perfection.

Steve In B&W as presented would work best because of the mixed light !! With the conversion you can alter the mood and come up with a pleasing image.
As presented I like the end results and works for me !!

I like it too. Mixed light is very interesting.

Works here also. Plenty of detail in all tonal ranges. Different and I like it. TFS

Steve,
I like the fur detail, but the background is distracting. I would blur the background and I think that would add impact in my opinion. I like the contrast as presented.

Thanks folks for taking the time.
For me, Roger has picked up on what I thought.
Overall I feel it doesn't work for the following reasons, however I might tweak it more later:
- The BG is too busy and distracting and not diffused enough for the head to stand out
- It too contrasty
- It's just a little bit of a mess
Here is the colour version for those who might be wondering ;) I think both are in the 'perhaps' pile!
cheers

I could not disagree with that.
