This comes from a cross country trek with my wife, mother in law and two dogs in a Toyota Prius. We were happy to stretch our legs.

Hi Jim I like the composition Complementing fg and bg elements lots of tonal changes Would suggest giving the image a little punch For these images I like to work in LAB color Makes it easier to preserve colors as presented At some time we might be able to give some details for the procedure You might be able to obtain similar results using selective color Let me know what you think

some cool colors in this scene maybe some noise reduction in the sky and a cw rotation to level the horizon would be my goal

Looks nice Al, thanks. I actually did this in LAB, but I guess I didn't go far enough. Are you talking about techniques from the book LAB, the Canyon Conundrum?

John, I thought about the horizon, and every time I straightened it, It looked wrong to me. That could be simply because I've looked at it this way for too long.

I like Alfred's re-do and yes that is what he is talking about. Good composition but I would probably try a crop with less sky.
