Hi!
It has been a while but I'm finally back!!!

Picture taken at Crissy Field in San Francisco, CA

This is the full picture, no crop. I was so close to my little subject that I had to zoom out to 250mm...:D

350mm (250mm + TC 1.4X)
f/11
1/640
ISO 320
manual focus

Thanks for your comments!

The sharpness of the plumage and head angle look very good. I wish the bill were in focus, too, and he would have picked a more attractive perch. The image is a bit too large, 1024 pixels horizontally is the maximum size.

Sorry, I read 1024 but reduced it to 1200....

Thanks, I had one where the bill was more in focus but the angle of the head with the contact with the eye was not as good.... I agree with the perch not too "nature-like" but at the same time it has a little zen-like look to it;)

Thanks again,

You got some very nice feather detail on that Anna's.
I wish the perch had been nicer, but sometimes you have to take what you get.

These hummers in the Bay Area seem particularly approachable this time of the year.
They seem to like their perches so if they fly away, sometimes you just have to
stay put and they will come back for more photos. :)
