Canyon Wren

Davis Mountains, West Texas

D300s, 600, ISO 320, f8, 1/400, -0.3EV, Fill @ -1.3.

Just got back from a trip to the Davis Mountains where I chased a few species I needed for my files.

Here's one I got on Tuesday.

Well, you've reached perfection. The pose, open beak, HA, exp.
are all excellent, and the perch looks perfect,
the comp with the bird on top 1/3 is well done.
BG excellent. Love it.

Outsanding pose, detail, perch. I usually like vertical compositions only when the bird is more vertical than horizontal but I can see why you did it this way - you wanted to include more of that beautiful rock and I think it works.

Beautiful shot. I like the angle of the bird and the open bill. Great perch.

I just started reading your e-book. Awesome stuff!

Very nice little bird. Love the singing pose and the perch.
I got your CD book yesterday. Thanks a lot for putting it out; great help for all of us with a lot of useful information.

This is one example where a large perch actually works, like the way how the bird goes with the texture on the rock. Well done!
