Found this stunning White Pelican with gorgeous feathers showing off his breeding bump. Figured I'd give him a plug on the net and maybe hook him up by V-Day. Had many photographs of WP with the entire profile but chose this one (despite the shadow) b/c I felt it better accentuated the breeding bump and flowing feathers.

Canon 5D, Canon 400 DO
F8, 1/4000sec, ISO 400, manual mode
hand held, slight crop

C & C always welcomed and appreciated,

Looks like White Pelicans might be the bird du jour today :)

Expposure looks right on for the lighting conditions and I do enjoy the flowing featherss.

The blue water offsets the whites of the bird, but the blues look a bit muddied?

I like the details in the yellow beak and right rear feathers -- nicely captured.

Good line and composition.
I like that the background water is blurred - blur stops where it should (hope that makes sense).
I might try lightening the shadow to soften that line.
I am looking forward to spring as we normally get hundreds of white pelicans.

Hi Marina. This may be the cleanest white pelican I've seen. I like the pose and comp. The sharpness and detail in the whites are excellent and the bird stands out nicely from the background. Well done.

I like the sharpness, angle and eye contact and might lighten the shadow on the back a little.

Beautiful, I like the sharpness and good job with exposure, might run mild NR on BG. Well done!

Gorgeous pelican Marina.
You handled the whites pretty good and love the eye in this one, BG is very complementary with such a white bird. I don't mind the shadowed back.
