from my archives. Took this back in 2005. I reprocessed it using my new tools, viveza 2 and good noise reduction program. Got picked 1st place by Clyde Butcher which to me is a great honor since it was he who turned me on to this area.

The clouds and storm, of course, are very dramatic. I like the use of the beach rack line as a leading line to the storm. I also like the use of the piles for FG interest. I would suggest that moving up or down would have been good to get the tops of the piles off the intersection with the horizon.
B&W treatment well done and makes it more dramatic.

Hi Michael, You did a great job on the technicals with the clouds and distant rain squall adding huge impact to the image. Agree with Robert about the merge but I can see how that could easily be overlooked. Nicely handled and a well deserved award...

I really love this shot. What I so enjoy about Clyde Butcher's
work is that I feel as if i could step into the photograph and
be right in a part of Florida with no cars, high rises or billboards.
I would be very proud to have taken this shot.
