Look what I caught!

This Great Egret has captured a rather large needlefish and is trying to figure out how to swallow it. Photo taken at Ding Darling NWR last year. 40D, 500 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/3200, f/5.6, ISO 400. I removed a lot of OOF black dots to clean up the background. Comments are welcome.

Great catch, Steve. Spending more time to remove more of the black spots would add even more. I like the simplicity of the pose against smooth blue of the water and the dark area of disturbed water provides a nice base to the image.

I like the low angle, and the the exposure looks spot on too. Thats an interesting catch, and would love to see how he handled it - if indeed he did manage to get it down the hatch.
