Just back from my Winter Yellowstone tour and here is one way the bison cope with the stress of winter. By using existing trails and following one another in a line they minimize energy use.
Camera Model Canon EOS 7D
Shooting Mode Aperture-Priority AE
Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/800
Av( Aperture Value ) 8.0
Metering Mode Evaluative Metering
Exposure Compensation +2/3
ISO Speed 400
Lens EF600mm f/4L IS USM

Great use of a lead in line to the subject.
I like the snow covered faces in particular and wonder if the composition might suffer if all of the shadow is included.

Thanks Fabs.... Really didn't need the baffins this trip, it was quite warm for a winter Yellowstone trip.

Very effective Dale, like this a lot, the winding path leading thru the image and the snow on their muzzles really enhance this fine image.

Love the curving line of tracks and bison. Gives a good sense of the conditions of survival in winter.
