Snowy Egret, Sunken Meadow State Park, Long Island NY

This image was created one late afternoon at Sunken Meadow. Was shooting at a downward angle and into a darkened area of the water. The Egret came flying in and I tried to capture it against the dark BG exposing for the white bird. No flash so as not to lighten up the BG.

This image was selected as a NANPA top 100 image this year.

This image is very nice, I really like the high contrast yet you did very well with the exposure. The wings positions are also very appealing!

I like the pose and the wings too. My only wish is to see the bill a little more, but against the black BG that would be a lot to ask.
