This Trumpeter Swan was photographed at a wintering site in northern Minnesota. I didn't have more room at the bottom of the frame and nothing of interest on either side so I went with the tall narrow crop. Opinions? 40D, 300 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/320, f/8, ISO 400. Comments are welcome.

Steve:
re: crop. Just my personal taste, I find it a bit too tall and skinny. I would add a bit on each side, even if not 'interesting' just to balance your proportions a bit. Would make a good book mark as is.:D I would also add a smidge of canvas below.
You have really been working the swans! They are beautiful.

Thanks Randy. Actually, I was thinking of calling this a "bookmark crop." :)

I agree with Randy with a bit more on each side.
Otherwise I like it a lot. Light, color and exposure are great. I also like the angle of the bird towards the camera.
