Another of my photos from my recent experiment with the Mark IV at ISO 400. I've never caught the wings so fully forward on a Woodie wing flap before. I like the head angle too. I had never appreciated how blue the wing tips could be prior to this image.

What an interesting pose, Doug - wings stretched way forward, head pulled back. The flying water drops are a plus. Good colors and you nailed the cheek patch. Excellent sharpness and good comp. Well done.

The iridescence of the colors on the wing and head really make the shot. The tail, head, eye, and wings all have great position, and of course, detail/sharpness.
I would love to see if it could be cropped further out in front of the wings to follow the water droplets - I like that detail - but don't know if it would throw off the balance that you have right now.

Ahh, my favourite duck!!! Awesome pose you've captured, as it's fairly unique. That Mark IV sure looks like it's shaping up to be a nice camera. Great, great job! :)

I have often had trouble with Wood Ducks because the intensity of some of the colors can so easily get blown out. You nailed the exposure here and your choice of 1/4000 sec was fortuitous and necessary to freeze the wing in its full outstretched position. Kudos.

Interesting posture Doug, and you nailed it with the ss. I like the overall colours that are all well exposed, and the flying droplets off the wing tips adds to the image. Well captured.

You nailed that one. Awesome wing pose. Colors are great and the exposure looks perfect for such a difficult bird.

Beautiful color and detail, Doug. Only suggestion is to lighten the back of the head and wings.
