View Full Version : Doomed! Or is it?

This zebra looked doomed. It had obviously been attacked, probably by a lion, and just managed to escape. The ears were drooping, it was hobbling and in visible pain, when it saw a spotted hyena approaching it. Death was imminent, and we (my sons and I) sat transfixed. What was going to happen now? Was the zebra a little too big for a lone hyena? Would the hyena call out to invite more of its clan to join in on the feast? Finally, it was an anti-climax.... The hyena just made a detour, and walked away! The zebra lived to tell its tale, I guess!

Great story and a fitting image Ajit. I'd be tempted to make this a (pano) crop just below the Buffalo's feet to only include the Hyena looming up on the helpless Zebra.

What a setting Ajit - flamingo's and wildlife, all in one. I like the triangle of the three animals, and your story tells it all. If anything, I would boost the saturation on the flamingo's.

Excellent image, does tell a story, love how you framed it showing the large picture. Hoping for the zebra but injuries don't look good !!

Great image, I also like the triangle of characters with the oblivious buffalo in the middle. Light is harsh but so's the scene! Very good job.

The unknown tension of what may happen next makes this shot.
