Photographed at my feeder yesterday this Crested Tit are among the most charming passerines visiting this winter. Here I try to put more emphasis on natural surronding than doing a classic portrait.

D700, 600/4 VR, Gitzo and Wimberley, natural light, set-up and cold feet :s

Killer image Daniel. I love everything on this one. Composition is really wide allowing us to enjoy the fantastic perch, the surroundings and keeping a lot of detils in the bird. The raised crest and the pose helps a lot to keep the species identity (no matter that it is small in the frame)
It seems that it is a backlight but you have a wonderfull natural fill light. I also love the out of focus circles in the lower part of the frame because they adds a kind of magic effect to the scene.
I am so jealous of this image....:p

I like the inclusion of the branch a lot, the bird looks good, too. The backlit crest adds to it. If anything, I might add a bit canvas at the top but not much.

Lovely image. I like the inclusion of the complete perch. Slightly less space at the bottom and more at the top would have been good. However, I like the present version as well. Thanks for sharing.

Really like the rim lighting and the way you positioned the bird by showing more of the tree. Really shows his small size.

Thanks for all your comments, I really appreciate it.

Juan, I think a lot of the light that is reflected on the bird comes from the large amount of snow that has fallen this winter here in Stockholm.

Once again, thanks!
