A portrait shot of a juvenile taken a few months ago.

There is a family of approx. 15 birds that are always around the yard somewhere. When I mow the lawn they follow me around looking for insects and grubs disturbed by the mower. This image was taken in heavy shadow late in the day.

Olympus E500, 50-200mm, EC14.
Raw, slight exposure adjustment for hot whites.
1/25 F/4.1 Ap. Priority -0.3 ISO 400 65% of original
Levels, curves, smart sharpen, slight colour adj, neutral & black.

Excellent detail, I can see the whole landscape in his eye. I would definitely crop to the right to get rid of the white part. The plumage looks slightly over-sharpened.
Great exposure control and background.

Great details and portrait. I would either go for a wider crop including the entire head or a tighter version as suggested by Fabs.

I vote for a bit tighter crop. Lots of great detail here....the BG works great here.
