Took this shot from the car hand held in harsh lighting in the afternoon .

Ram, this is an excellent bird and you captured it quite well.
There are few things that IMO could make the image stronger.
You were in a car so the angle is too steep with the BG taking
too much attention. The light was strong so parts of the bill shine
too much, you can correct that in PS. The bird is looking up, it
would have been nice if you tried to wait for a better HA and eye contact.
Last thing is that the feet of this bird would most likely be cut off by the
crop if you could see them fully, (virtual feet), it is always good to leave
space on the bottom as if you can actually see the feet.
The right thing in this situation would be I think to drive the car away from the bird,
get out and go flat on the ground if possible (with sun behind you if possible too).
In any case this is a wonderful bird, I envy you on the find...:)
