This was taken on a photography workshop and I stood on a porch with the instructor by my side coaching me through this technique. It was a study in motion, shutter speed, composition and zooming to obtain the right detail I wanted. The camera was tripod mounted.

Very beautifully done. Love the composition and effect. I had no idea this could be done in camera.

I like the feel on this one Barbara, perfect subject for a blur. Might just give it a touch more contrast if it were mine.

Good thought, Jackie - I may play with it and give that a try. Thanks!

I also thought a slight bit of contrast might be nice here as it feels unanchored to me. That said, it's a great camera blur - good ratio of abstract and actual mixed in one frame!
