Wow, I haven't posted in the macro forum in a long time. I got too distracted by all the birds :). Anyway here is a soft green leaf with dew on it. Taken on a sunny day, but in a patch of shade on the side of the house. F/2.8 is the way to go!

You guys are lucky the poppies haven't bloomed yet!!

Simple and beautiful. Great shot. I like the narrow DOF and the composition with the drop in the lower right.

Very nice Aidan! I think that going up one stop would have given better focus on the drop, but I like it as presented. The nice shades of green, the soft feel of the OOF areas and the diagonal of the leaf leading to the subject make this a very pleasant image to look at!

I agree with Jerry and also think you've got a touch of noise under the leaf - a quick pass of NR will take care of it. Lovely comp on this Aidan - nice to have you back again! I really love how we only get one edge of the leaf before it melts away into the BG...sweet!

Thanks for stopping by everyone. It's good to be back!! Jules, you are right about the noise.

Hey Aidan, I really like the comp and idea with the shallow DOF, but I would have like a little focus on the drop. Still very nice.

As good as any of your bird shots Aidan. Love the shallow dof here. Well done mate. :)

Lovely composition--it drew me in right away. Agree with others about better focus on the drop. I love the greens, the curve of the leaf, the dark areas framing the lighter areas.
