Photographed at the Bosque Visitor Center in November 2009. Haven't gotten around to process any of my other images...

Thanks in advance. JR

Great feather detail, and I like the BG color and softness. I'd add a little canvas on the left, and I'd consider removing the shadow.

Joerg:

Very nice exposure with fairly harsh light. Excellent detail as pointed out by Doug. For my tastes, excellent level of sharpening. Like the feet.
Perhaps a fraction more room on the left if you have it.

Very nice shot. I have been looking for these little guys for a while now. I like the nice dof for the small bird. It does seem a bit tight on the left. Dave

I like the head angle, sharpness and BG. Another vote for a wider crop and maybe lightening of the shadow.

you did very well in that light condition.
Agree with the wider crop suggestion. other then that, I like it a lot.

Beautiful shot of this little fellow. Great sharpness. I like the head angle.
I agree with the others on the shadow below the bird.

Beautiful feather detail, and I love the complimentary BG color. Agree with adding just a tad to the left, at least. Well done.

Agree with the suggestions for improving the image, but you captured this bird very well. Love the detail, HA, colors and BG. Well done.

Just a great looking bird. I agree about the shadow, at least the little proud part
should be easy to remove.

Thank you all for the kind feedback. The image is uncropped and hence no more room to the left is available. :o Should have gotten it right in the camera... :)

Best, JR

It is important you did not clip the tail and left just a bit of space that you could select and free-transform
Select->Edit->FreeTransform. Then you should repair the texture which is easy here since the part in question is OOF. Here's my attempt, at the end I did few QMs on the transformed part to break any stretch marks or/and repeating patterns.

Cheers,
