Haven't posted in a while.....heading to Tanzania next Friday so very busy! This was from my recently completed photo tour to Bosque and White Sands. Got some very nice pink skies a few days there.
Canon 1 D Mark lll with the 28-135mm lens at 21mm for 0.8 sec. at f22 and ISO 400. Split nd filter HH in front of lens.

Hey Roman, The image is nicely divided with soft early light and a pastel sky. The lines in the sand bring you right into the image. Well handled!

Beautiful composition, Roman. I especially like the combination of soft pastels and a few hard textures.

The graceful curve of the horizon is very nice, but the line almost gets lost right along here:

That might stand enhancing just a tad. I masked the edge and painted with white on a soft light layer to brighten below the line, and curves in luminosity mode to slightly darken above the line.

stunning simplicity Roman! David's repost enhances the dune edge.
can't believe you're going to Tanzania, I haven't even been there yet and I live closer (technically)
the dollar does count in your favour though ;) enjoy!!!

Hi Roman

gorgeous image , yes the colour is great , but with all those textures ,lines ,H\S in the dunes , I really thought that this would equally look good in B&W.. did this on my laptop so not perfect , but gives the general feeling I was looking for..

i hope you do not mind me playing with your image

Roman, It's a gorgeous image. I prefer the color version but the B&W version is also nice. I love the way the lines draw you into the image. This would make a beautiful large print.
Have a great trip and be safe. See you when you get back.:)

You know it's a fine image when it looks good in both b&w and color. David's repost is a good step. Great texture and flow. Looking forward to your images from this next trip.

Roman,

That grass/dirt on the middle right grabs my eye and interrupts the nice flow of the patterns in the FG. I particularly like the subtle pastels of the image.

Thanks all! I will give your correction a shot David as I like the subtle change.....very effective! I also like the conversion Peter!!! Minimizes the distraction Robert was referring to!
