One of my better coyote images I've had, they are becoming more and more uncommon due to the new development. The coyote seemed to be enjoying the warm rays of the evening light giving a nice little smile to conclude a good day of wildlife viewing and photography.

Cropped about 60 percent from horizontal to vertical

Lovely golden light Peter, a shame you could not have gotten closer, as losing some detail here already with large crop.

Thanks, unfortunately sometimes 400mm is not long enough. I have thought about cropping it less to keep the detail in there, though there were plenty of shrubs and branches that made it distracting.

Beautiful light. The coyote does look like he is enjoying it. I think a horizontal crop would look nice as well.

Thank you. I do have a horizontal crop of this coyote that I will post soon

Lovely light. I agree that cropping a lot has decreased the quality. There would always be bushes, as that is their habitat. The challenge is to show the habitat and still get a nice image. You may try using a narrow aperture to get the bushes in focus. Look forward to the horizontal version.
