At Morton WR this AM with the Buonomos. We waited all morning for a Cardinal to land on our set up. This guy came in about 5 minutes before we were getting ready to leave. Glad we stuck around.

Cropped to vertical.

Wow!
The detail is striking on this one, especially in his crest. A bit of double catchlight from the flash that I might remove if it were mine, but other than that, this is fantastic! Good reds exposure and clean, complimentary BG.

Other catchlight must have been me... Wish he hit the thinner perch but I'll take it.

Nice one Joe !

I like the Comp (maybe a little too tight), BG, light, pose and colors.
The BG is a bit noisy, you have a few dust bunnies
I would leave only one catchlight.
There is a feeling of a big crop to it.

Very nice details and exposure. I would tone down the bill. I agree it's tight but this is a very nice Cardinal image.

A stunning bird for sure. Love the fill light and the smooth BG. I'm not crazy about the perch.

The upper part of the beak looks blown out. +1 on the double catchlights as well.

Very nicely done! Great detail and posture. I'm glad you stuck around too! :D

Lovely pose, and I like the light and sharpness. I would desat the reds slightly.

Love the alert pose with great eye contact and raised crest feathers. You held the reds nicely. I'd run another pass of NR on the BG. I might tone down the perch and the beak just a little. A sliver of canvas on the left would balance things out nicely. And I agree about removing the second catchlight.

Awesome shot! One of the best I've seen of these fellows!!

Catchlight is the only thing I see.

Nice capture. Details look great. The highlight on the beak is a bit bright and as noted, the second catchlight could be removed.

Really excellent work on the reds. Something I struggle with.

Good work Joe. I actually LOVE the perch, even though large. It has nice character. Noise mentioned and otherwise a wonderful piece of work. :)
