Hi There

Another shot of Molly the Great Grey Owl, this time having landed on a tree stump and contemplating her next flight.

Wow, what an intense stare! I think a really large size blow up of just her eye and the reflection in it could be an interesting image too.

Looks like a little noise in the darker areas of the BG on the left of frame.

Hi Jim

On the noise front yes i had seen it in the background, but to be honest have no idea how to select the background cleanly with all those little feathers sticking out... so i left it as is :o

Yeah, that could be a really tedious selection process. I wonder about just running NR on a selection that runs just outside the "radius" of the end of the feathers. . . Not sure how it would look.

I didn't notice the noise at first glance....and then had to really look for it. Certainly she has an intense look at something......gorgeous detail around the eye. I might be tempted to crop the top down to the head. Normally I'd leave room but the top is light colored and different....thus drawing a little of my attention.

Hi Lana - Jim

Here's a go at the crop you suggested just concentrating on the eye and beak

I meant to just crop the top and leave the rest of the owl but......oh my this is really cool. The reflection in the eye is awesome.

Love the crop John. Eliminating the bright and pattern-filled background was a major plus!

Love the crop mostly because it eliminated the bright white in the urc...

Nice comp and feather details, but it seems a bit dark and the bright bg is a bit distracting.
