another one from from last summer. This is already a 70% crop so did not want to crop it further. Plus I rather like the impressionist-style BG. Your typical 'texas-in-May' meadow. With this type of comp, placement of bird in the frame becomes more important and tricky. So let me know what you think on that front.

40D. 300 f/4 non-IS + 1.4x. iso 400. f/6.3. 1/2000.

All C&C welcome and appreciated.

I like the wide crop, head angle and particularly the flowers in the BG and might sharpen the bird a tad more.

I like the space in this, although I would take a slither off the RHS. Lovely pose, and I like the hint of the yellow flowers across the BG.

If you could go a tiny bit tighter... but still lovely with the meadow.

I can see why you wanted to keep the lovely Texas meadow. I like the comp as is, but I could imagine just a tiny bit off the bottom and the right. Beautiful image.

Thx for the comments everyone. I wont take credit for the wider crop though :-) If I had a longer lens or could have approached the bird successfully, I would have taken a tighter shot for sure. Approaching them in an open meadow is not easy.

Looks great Kaustubh! Really good comp. Perhaps a bit more off the right for me too! Wonderful pose and colors overall.

I like this one a lot. I would not crop anything from the bottom -- I like the OOF sunflowers too much.
