What a beauty Oscar! I wonder if a slightly deeper dof keeping that "furry" neck and back in focus would have helped a little. Apart from that the image absolutely sparkles.

Great looking subject. Agree that greater DOF may be helpful. Don't know what to do about the bright BG object other than change shooting position. I find it a bit distracting.

Hi oZ -very very nice.
Interesting discussion about the DOF - more would have bought the BG more into prominence. Cant have both here unless you changed the shooting position.
Could have certainly gone to a higher ISO - 1600 is still very very good.

Love the pose, Good HA and lovely details.

Very nice portrait, love the HA and details, in cases like this I try to put the focus point exactly on the eye so that head and eye would be the sharpest. do wish for a more natural BG. Well done and TFS

Hi Oscar,
I like the portrait. you have sharp details and good color rendition, I would suggest toning down the diagonal white OOF line in the background intersecting your bird, its a tad too bright and bring my eye to it...looking forward to the next one...

Oscar - great pose and detail. Granted more DOF might have helped the bird - but I don't know what it would have done to the BG. Diagonal bright and dark BG areas are a bit distracting. I never knew these guys had that teal color at the eyes. Well done!
