Another lovely insect image! You all are going to get me to quit being oogy over bugs at this rate. I love the angle and the placement in the frame, Ken. The eyes, legs and perch are also really nice here. I could do without the flash backlash but it's not a deal breaker by any means. You might try toning it down just a bit if that's possible. It's always tough when it's on the wings.

The shallow dof works well here. Those eyes are just perfect! Sharp and mesmerizing. The out of focus reflections work for me, though I had to think about it--I like that they carry the colors of the face into the rest of the frame. I just read Jules' comments, and agree that maybe toning them down a bit would make the image even better than it already is.

Nice colors and pose, Ken. Excellent details on the eyes! Personally I don't like all the specular highlights on the wing. I feel they distract from your focal point, the head and eyes.

I took a stab at cloning out and/or toning down the highlights on the wing and quickly realized it would be a project that would consume time that I do not have right now. If I ever tackle it in the future, I'll post the results.
