Last night, almost non existing. Very slow shutter speed so cable release used. Sorry about the branch over the male's head but there was a fence on my left. Anyway, I think he looks cute like that. Audio used to have open eyes. Boy, do they sleep!

Cool find and IQ is remarkably good at this high ISO. I would only increase the color temperature. The whites look blueish on my monitor.

A great shot Fabs and it really shows off their habitat nicely I like the fact that it wasn't taken on a steep angle.

Thanks both of you!
Axel, I have already warmed it up lots. It was after sunset, so extremely blue. I can try and go warmer though, but it would need to be selective because those pine needles can sing :)

Jimmy, the angle was quite steep, but the focal distance has the diminishing effect.

And I have to thank Mike Robinson, for pointing the location to us.

I kind of like the cool tones, it suggests the late time of the day. Great expression despite the branch.

Fabs...great details for such a high ISO. loved the darkness on the top...adds sorta vignette to it. Thx for sharing.

Great for such ISO. Well done. Not fussed about branch over male as that's the habitat. Not sure if you cropped or not but I think it would also work as a vertical.

Great catch, Fabs, especially under the lighting conditions and ISO requirement. You can probably guess my suggestions: Throw a little more light onto
the left bird and "flag" the light on the lower right branches. I warmed it up by finding the brightest white on the birds and setting white point there at 242.

Great work as usual, David, thanks for taking the time, always a treat :)

Thanks all for your comments. I was delighted to see them. They are the neighborhood Owls where Mike lives.

Fabs this image has a nice Christmas feel to it and do well on a card. I love the atmosphere that you captured and think it is great when an image touches the emotions. It takes it to the next level.
The work that David has done is great.
Very well done at ISO 3200.

Hi fabs,

Very nice shot, and like others I am amazed with the IQ at this high a ISO. I love what David did to your shot BTW. It just pops a bit more like that. Love the cosy feeling and the setting. Congrats
