Interesting fluffed up pose...I imagine it was preening? I do wish the bill tip did not merge with the feathers. The face seems a bit soft compared to other areas (e.g. shoulder) - perhaps a bit more selective sharpening would bring it up to par. There is also a darkish halo atop the fluffed feathers, perhaps caused by some burning spilled onto the BG? Good, although dirty, perch and a nice BG.

I like the angle, light, BG and fluffed-up preening pose. Did you add the catchlight? BTW, I like your avatar. :)

Hi all thanks for the comment. The halo effect is may be due to shadow & highlight tool... I have brighten up the eye a bit. Haven't add any catch light... :)

You can avoid the halo if you apply curves in your RAW file. That way you don't have to use S/H or alternatively select the bird only before using S/H.

Trivedi, Nice fluffy bird. I think your composition could be stronger if you eliminated some of the empty space on the left, adhere more to the rule of thirds for this image. Also, I'd clean up the rock a bit. Hope to see more of your work here.

Hi Trivedi
I don't mind the room on the left but maybe a little more room on the bottom would help, and of course a little more head turn. Having said that, a very interesting image.
