Captured in our recent trip, I love snow falling on wildlife. Cropped for composition, tripod used because of low s/s.

Park County, WY.

Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Lens (mm): 400
ISO: 800
Aperture: 6.3
Shutter: 1/320

Fabs, The snow adds so much to this. I really like the comp. The coat is beautiful, very nicely done.:)

Love the falling snow and those eyes. I agree, I love shooting wildlife in winter, especially foxes. Something about those eyes!

agreed on the snow adding to it, great pose, a fox is on the top of my list to capture but still have yet to see one in the wild

Another beauty from you Fabs. I too need to add the fox to my portfolio. Hope to next month in the park. Did you see any while on the sleds? Agree with falling snow really adding to the image.

Todd, on the horse sleds we saw Coyotes (a lot) and a Bald Eagle, all too far to photograph. It was great for Elk though and lotsa of fun.
Thanks guys!

I forgot you were from down south, by sleds us northerners mean snowmobiles:D. Horse drawn does sound like fun though.

Lovely setting Fabs, and this guy really pops from the snowy BG. Good placement in the frame too.

Lovely image. I think with the 5DII, you could have used a higher ISO than 800. I remember you clicking at higher ISOs with the D3.

Cheers,

Superb shot. The eye contact and falling snow make this a great image.

Love that fox Fabs !!! Memorable encounter !!!

Still would recommend the snowmobile but in general there is not that much wildlife accessible, I think late Feb might be better !!

Sabyasachi, I'm still getting familiar with the 5d2, but although it has very clean ISO it is no match for the D3.

Very clean image, it's sharp enough for me. I love the clarity in the snow flakes that you obtained.

Just a nit, the horizon going through the head is a bit of a distraction. I would have gone lower or higher, if possible.

Nice, so a new batch of fox images awaits. Good to know. Loved them from last year. Fabs, exposed properly, the 5d2 has given me usable images at 1600-3200. And by usable, i mean cropped and still printed 11x14 for art shows.

very nice shot Fabs. we rarely get snow down here, and if we do it's only on the highest mountains :)
